Simone Luti
Simone Luti was born in the shining hills of Tuscany in the month of November, 1976. From the time he was a young boy (though he had interests in literature, science and the history of art) he dedicated himself to the study of the pianoforte. Thus it followed that he received his diploma in pianoforte with excellence from The Conservatorio L. Boccherini in Lucca under the tutelage of professor Gloria Belli. After graduation, Maestro Luti remained in Lucca, preparing himself as a concert pianist, while studying with Maestro Kostantin Bogino (head of the Paris Conservatory), and as a chamber musician, with Maestro Riccardo Cecchetti (Scuola di Musica di Fiesole) and the great pianist and composer, Maestro Pietro Rigacci. It was with Maestro Rigacci, at L.Boccherini, that Maestro Luti took on "the course of highest artistic formation in composition", which he completed with a degree. This course had Maestro Luti collaborating with the experimental composition department of New York University, and required him to integrate a vast panorama of compositional styles, in the creation of new music, written for films which were presented in Rome with composer Luis Bacalov.

Still in his twenties, Simone wore the coat of an international piano soloist. He performed in chamber ensembles, in duo, trio and sextet, for institutions, theaters, ambassadors and musical associations in Italy, Switzerland, Austria, England and Belgium. But it was while his original music was presented in official seasonal concerts in Lucca, Pisa, and Florence, that he saw his passion for opera increase.

Thus, immediately after having obtained the title of "Maestro of repertoire and theater" from the course of specialization of il Teatro G.Verdi di Pisa, he began to work as a collaborative maestro in the operatic productions of important Tuscan theaters and festivals: "Turandot" at Teatro Comunale di Firenze (directed by Maestro Daniel Oren); "Tosca" at Festival Pucciniano at Torre del Lago; "Gianni Schicchi" e "Barbiere di Siviglia" at Festival Serchio delle Muse in Lucca.

In 2002, Maestro Luti won selection to L'Accademia delle Arti e Mestieri dello Spettacolo del Teatro alla Scala di Milano (The Academy of Performing Arts at Teatro alla Scala di Milano). There he was put in charge of preparing the singers of the opera academy as well as the ballet dancers of the academy of dance.

In the summer of 2004 he dedicated himself to the perfection of orchestral direction at L'Accademia Chigiana in Siena.

Shortly thereafter, he began his collaboration with International Opera Theater, conducting their productions in Teatro Avvaloranti, Cittą della Pieve, Italy. Most recently, he conducted Troy Herion's "Il Racconto D'Inverno", and "La Tempesta", and Pietro Rigacci's ""Il Sogno di una Notte di Mezza Estate".
Maestro Luti presently lives in Milan where he continues to work under the direction of Maestro Riccardo Muti, at Accademia alla Scala as a coach, preparing opera singers from the studios of Leyla Gencer, Luciana Serra e Luigi Alva.

Maestro Luti has had the opportunity to learn numerous lessons from some of the most important names in European theater, but counts as his most profound influences, Maestro Giuseppe Montanari (musical director of staging at Teatro alla Scala), Maestro James Vaughan (collaborative pianist of Maestro Riccardo Muti) and Maestro Dante Mazzola (the head prompter of Teatro alla Scala).

As both composer and conductor, Maestro Luti continues the pursuit of his artistic formation with studies in humanism, profiting from the musicological aspects of the musical arts and frequenting, as he has always done, readings, lectures and exhibits by poets, critics, artists and writers of the most celebrated universities and artistic communities of Milan, Rome and Florence.

Maestro Luti is married to Deborah Pioli, well known poet, dramaturge, and writer of children's fables.
